Welcome to my blog!

Hello visitor,

Perhaps you are spying or in need of some information about language education. If so, you've come to the right place! I'm Sude, studying English Language Teaching at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa. This is my 6th semester, which I think is a good opportunity for me to spill all my knowledge.
Time passes quickly and changes everything around. However, don't you worry! I will try my best to let you know about the new, fun innovations about language teaching which you could use in your classrooms and provide an engaging experience for your students.

All the best,

Storytelling - Storybird

Using storytelling when teaching children and adults is a valuable strategy. Stories allow learners to use their imagination more fully. This creativity process encourages free thinking and formation of innovative ideas. Learners are introduced to the intricacies of language that can be difficult to teach outright without a solid foundation. The flow of a story as the plot unfolds and the characters are developed also introduces learners to new words and solidifies their pronunciation. Many stories can be used to support the virtues that are important in society, home and school. Stories that develop character traits such as courage, wisdom, honesty, kindness and open-mindedness can be used to set the stage for emulation and can deepen understanding the subject. An engaging story draws all the learners' attention. So, here is our story created in Storybird, voiced by me and my friend Gözde Özendi. Enjoy!

Voki

Voki enables you to create an avatar in your own voice using a talking character. You can customize your Voki to look like you or take on the identity of different characters such as animals, monsters. It is a really good way to entertain your students or help out the introverted ones! Here’s my Voki clown, enjoy!

Sutori

Teachers can use Sutori to share pre-made stories, construct their own, or create assignments that require students to build multimedia-rich stories. It is quite useful and fun! Here's my Sutori about All About Me for students to share information about themselves.
